Machakos County is preparing for one of the biggest agricultural events in the region as the South Eastern Kenya National Show returns from June 3rd to 7th, 2026, at the Machakos Showground. Organized by the Agricultural Society of Kenya, the annual exhibition is expected to attract thousands of farmers, exhibitors, investors, innovators, and families from different parts of the country.
The show has continued to grow into a major platform for agricultural learning, trade, and networking within Kenya’s lower eastern region. It brings together farmers and industry players to exchange ideas, discover new technologies, and explore modern farming methods aimed at increasing productivity.
This year’s event will place strong emphasis on climate-smart agriculture and sustainable business practices. With changing weather patterns affecting many farmers, exhibitors are expected to showcase drought-resistant crops, water-saving irrigation systems, improved livestock management practices, and environmentally friendly farming technologies. Farmers will also gain knowledge on value addition, processing, packaging, and market access to help them earn more from their produce.
The five-day exhibition will feature several activities including product displays, farmers’ forums, business networking sessions, pre-show judging, and the official opening ceremony. Stakeholders from the public and private sectors, including financial institutions and government agencies, will also be available to provide advice and investment opportunities.
Apart from agriculture, visitors will enjoy a lively entertainment atmosphere featuring amusement parks, live music performances, military band displays, and fireworks, making the event suitable for both learning and family fun.
The show is also expected to boost the local economy of Machakos through increased business for hotels, transport operators, food vendors, and traders. Organizers have invited farmers, students, entrepreneurs, and the general public to attend the event and experience the latest innovations shaping the future of agriculture in Kenya.
