The Red Rock variety, scientifically known as Brassica oleracea var. capitata, is a medium-sized red cabbage that matures within 80 to 85 days after transplanting. According to information provided at the exhibition, farmers planting the crop on September 11 can expect to begin harvesting from late November to early December, making it a suitable option for growers targeting specific market windows.

One of the major advantages of Red Rock is its efficient land utilization. Farmers are advised to maintain a spacing of 60 cm by 45 cm, allowing the crop adequate room for proper head development. With a seed rate of only 150 grams per acre, growers can establish a productive cabbage field at a relatively low seed cost.

The variety produces attractive heads weighing between 2 and 3 kilograms, a size preferred by many traders and consumers. Its rich purple-red color not only enhances market appeal but also signals the presence of beneficial antioxidants.

Exhibitors noted that Red Rock performs well both as a cooked vegetable and in fresh salads, thanks to its excellent flavor. Additionally, its long shelf life reduces post-harvest losses, enabling farmers to store and transport produce more conveniently.
