Excitement is building across Kitui County following the announcement that the Kitui Agricultural Show, Trade and Investment Expo 2026 will be held from 24th to 26th September 2026. The announcement was made by Waziri Dr. Stephen Mbaya Kimwele during an interview with one of Ukambani’s local media stations, where he emphasized the importance of the event in promoting agriculture, trade, investment, and economic growth in the region.
The three-day expo is expected to bring together farmers, agribusiness companies, investors, government agencies, financial institutions, manufacturers, and innovators from across Kenya. The event will provide a platform for stakeholders to showcase modern technologies, agricultural innovations, value-added products, and investment opportunities available within Kitui County and the wider Eastern Kenya region.

Agriculture remains the backbone of Kitui’s economy, supporting thousands of households through crop farming, livestock keeping, poultry production, beekeeping, and agribusiness ventures. The expo will therefore serve as an important learning forum where farmers can access practical knowledge on climate-smart agriculture, drought-resistant crops, irrigation technologies, animal husbandry, and market access strategies.
Beyond agriculture, the event aims to position Kitui as a strategic investment destination. Exhibitors and investors will have an opportunity to explore opportunities in manufacturing, renewable energy, mining, tourism, transport, and digital innovation. Local entrepreneurs will also benefit from networking opportunities that can open doors to partnerships and new markets.
The Kitui Agricultural Show, Trade and Investment Expo 2026 is expected to attract thousands of visitors, making it one of the county’s most significant economic and development events of the year. As preparations gather momentum, residents, farmers, businesses, and investors are encouraged to mark their calendars and participate in what promises to be a transformative showcase of innovation, enterprise, and opportunity for Kitui County and the entire Ukambani region.
